Couples Therapy in French Valley, CA.Closer than you think.

Many couples wait years before asking for help, often because therapy feels like one more thing to fit in. For French Valley couples, my Temecula office is a short drive down the road, with evening and weekend times. The hardest part is deciding to start. I make the rest easy.

Most couples wait too long.

The Gottman Institute has found that couples wait an average of six years of being unhappy before getting help. Six years of the same arguments, the same distance, and the same hope that it will fix itself.

It rarely does. Waiting usually means the pattern has more time to harden. Couples who start earlier tend to need less time, because there is more goodwill left to work with.

  • You keep saying you will look into it after this busy season.
  • One of you wants to start, and the other is not sure yet.
  • You are worried therapy means something is seriously wrong.
  • You do not know what to expect, so it is easier not to go.
  • You both want things to feel better, but you are not sure where to begin.

Starting should not be the hard part.

I keep the first steps simple. A free 30 minute consultation to talk through what is happening. Then a first session where I get to know both of you. No pressure, and no long commitment before you know it is a good fit.

In our work I utilize the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I hold both of you at once. Neither of you is the problem, and neither of you disappears in the room. And because my office is so close, keeping a steady weekly rhythm is realistic, even with full schedules.

The relationship you want is closer than you think.
